I’ve usually got a lot of irons in the fire and browser tabs open, but here’s what I’m mainly up to these days:

Taking Care of Business

My home office is in a constant state of flux. I’m learning how to optimize it for more effective work, while also refining it into a comfortable and inviting workspace. The next addition I have planned is a whiteboard; I have plenty of digital tools, but sometimes ideas flow best with a marker in hand.

Learning Curves

Currently, I’m primarily focused on my bachelor’s program, though I try to make regular time for learning in public through this site. I’m supplementing my learning with books (see below) and online resources.

Nerdy Things

I’m continually growing my homelab and using it as a testbed for new ideas, as well as for keeping up with networking, sysadmin and development skills that I don’t get to exercise as much through work.

What I’m Reading

  • Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software - Charles Petzold
  • Leviathan Wakes - James S. A. Corey
  • The Elements of Computing Systems - Noam Nisan and Shimon Shocken
  • The Phoenix Project: A Novel about IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win - Gene Kim, Kevin Behr, and George Spafford
